How Do I Get The Hair Off My Northface

"programs" Bac program Life ... The word LOVE

By discovering this blog the word Love as a first illustration of the references in my book, our friend "Phoenix naive" surprised: "I did not know love the program was " he says! Well ... me neither!
In fact, Phoenix is not wrong to wonder, since the coverage of the Portable Dictionary promises readers the key concepts of "program". The good surprise, whether critical or laudatory, is often the first act of thought.
It gives me the opportunity to clarify the relationship between what are the "programs" du Bac, and the other program, so difficult to "prepare", which is called "Life."

When I became a teacher, 68, it was fashionable to oppose the school and life. Some said the courses are designed purely to teach the brain. Others felt that we learn nothing that is not the result of experience, and should therefore "bring life to school" for students to take consciousness - through experimentation - a "knowledge" which pre-existed in them ... Extensive debate! For my part, I would have said we should bring in the school life for everyone to learn to think!
In fact, I soon found that by attending classes, my students do not stripped of their personal lives or their intimate emotions as we leave a bag in the cloakroom. I had to tell them "intellectually" was as much as possible "talk" existentially. Especially when it comes to literature, Ionesco that defines "what prevents people from being indifferent to men." To me, the "program" of the tray, French (basic criticism, cultural heritage, works of "great" writers), was less the "motivated" as the program required only as "condensed culture" that may enrich or prepare for their life experience. As it was my job as a teacher, I just chose a desire to transmit.

But I think this idea hold for all subjects. Tray programs are not an addition of acquired provisional you learn by heart in order to "have his tray," to forget them soon after. They form a set of elements in interaction with each other, they are a global culture to be, first, essential for successful studies that follow the tank, and secondly, essential for living in all dimensions of life: professional as well as civic, relational as well as personal, emotional as well as spiritual. If we could hardly believe his life without living it, we can no more live his life without thinking. Learning the school does not substitute life but they represent, in all areas, gains in human experience that we do not have to repeat every morning. As regards the culture inherited from our society, that is to say that our ancestors passed on their experiences, each of us is like a child's interest to see further or higher, climbing on the shoulders of his father. And this, at any age ...

To return to the original question ("Love Is the program?"), One can notice that it always has been, whether by example in philosophy (see Plato!), Literature (See "Map of Tenderness" Gemstone of the "passion" in Racine, games of love in Marivaux, etc..) Arts or other ... We must believe that the respectable people who have inspired programs wanted to reflect on love teenagers before they do the "live" (or during!), history may be to guard against certain illusions / delusions.
And the student who remarked in 2000 that the word love so lacking in my dictionary was absolutely right. He felt that awareness of the word might help make living reality. He also who inspired me the motto of Portable: "Knowing the words to understand the world".
