Ex Officio Robert's Rules

: how to define it?

following an initial review followed the "Submission 2" where I trace the history of portable dictionary. Thank you to "Aunties" have sent it to me, and this is as good as I go to his application by giving my definition of the word "Love", which will take a certain place. Here, as found in the dictionary:

LOVE. n. m . (Long feminine, cf. some plurals as the childhood loves ).
1 / Feeling love , full of tender reveries; strong attraction to a person one would like all to itself; intense desire to do that one with the beloved (at any level whatsoever: physical, emotional, moral , spiritual).
2 / But also deep desire well, which may extend to self-sacrifice, in respect of a single being (the child who protects the friend to whom it is dedicated, the the beloved (e) which we want happiness, the brother who raises human compassion) in respect of a community more or less wide (family, City, country), in respect of Humanity (humanism, philanthropy), or a Supreme Being (God's love, or next to the name of God).

These definitions of love intentionally limited (Does it employs no word about anything like: things, animals, practices, performances, etc..) Reveal the complexity of the concept . Saying 'I love you "may as well translate the most selfish desire to possess more than express the sublime devotion, and sometimes in passionate love, both at the same time. What, then, love? The only human love
raises a host of issues that we consider its degrees, its nature or "mystery."
- Its degrees affection, tenderness? physical attraction, ineffable charm? affinities between soulmates? dream of eternal romance, tender happiness that we build, or fatal and destructive passion?
- His nature : captative desire, self-giving? search for love for love, from the heart intermittently until the curiosities of eroticism? desire for the good of another? desire to love one another to love better together? carnal love, spiritual? Platonic love, "stripped of trade effect"? simple offshoot of the "libido" Freud: beloved, fantasies and sexuality?
- His mystery: what does I love you? What do do we in the other : his presence, his being, its future? Whence comes the dizziness of passion? And that other vertigo of compassion to the plight of others? How can join these two mysteries are two people? Love it would be more than physical metaphysics? From

view literary, love is, with the death (and against it), the most fertile sources of inspiration. The fascination with the beauty, the idealization of women, the illumination of the meeting, the ravages of passion as the impulses of romantic fervor, have been recurring themes of poetry, novels, drama, West. Literature sings the full range of states in love, they hatch their tears, using lexical fields or characteristics of metaphors ( emotions, problems, transportation, fire, flame, charm, delight, injury, wound, languor, melancholy, jealousy, oaths, treason, inconstancy, absence, solitude , etc..).
View words Affection Agape, Charity, Charm, Charnel, Compassion, Courtois, Crystallization, Empathy, Eros, Fetish, Languish, Libido, Object (sense 3 and 4), Narcissism, Passion, Platonic, Sublimation .

Presentation 2: History of Portable

Presentation 2

Dear (s) Visitors (s)

As I said, I continue by presenting the Bachelor of portable dictionary . This is for me explain my approach to tracing the history of the book. This history, I think, will answer a number of questions that came up since its release ... waiting to be asked for further clarification.

book of Genesis . In 1993, to meet the expectations of my students, I formed the project of writing a "portable dictionary." There was then written Tray French, three subjects to choose from. The first was to the "summary" of a text in contemporary general, followed that of " vocabulary questions ", then a discussion. It was also the year the most frequently chosen by candidates.
However, "questions of vocabulary 'anxieties students who told me, but what are the words that we should know? Is there somewhere a list of basic vocabulary that we can be questioned?
Moreover, while training to make summaries under way, and apart from the question of vocabulary, I could see my students come up against many words or expressions that they misunderstood. Prior to the exercise of summary, I had explain / comment on the dozen (or more) of unfamiliar words, which could take twenty minutes. Not to lose this time, it became urgent that my students can have a dictionary in class for easy reference, identifying words that should be known to the baccalaureate level, and which is therefore easily transportable.
The idea of "portable dictionary" was born.
remained to find the book with my students and I needed it.
And as the book did not exist, I told myself that I had to.

It was a work about two years. I had to select the words, expand my project to "word-concepts" and key phrases cultural (see the Preface of the dictionary). The first version appeared last Marabout in mid-1995 under the title chosen in collaboration with my students: portable dictionary of the future bachelor . The word portable I liked even more than its practical side, he was referring to the portable Philosophical Dictionary of Voltaire. And the book had the chance to be crowned in November 1995, for the price "Dumézil" of the French Academy.

Versions successive . All living book suffers the vicissitudes of life. Which are not necessarily negative. As it happens, Marabout editions have abandoned their collections extracurricular end of 1997, I had to find another publisher. It's a small earthquake to a book, which is likely to return to nothingness, even though it has sold more than twenty five thousand copies. But
home watching Hatier (- I had "flown" on the Profile The Argumentative text -). Time to reshape the book, to enrich it without too much load, and it was entitled to a second life in October 1998. For the occasion, it was removed from the title the word "future" (the "future bachelor"), the majority of readers holding the book still very useful for bachelors after the ferry, when they were "in preparation" in "BTS" or "college".
This new publication was obviously a joy for the author, and I could satisfy me. But a dictionary is never "finished." Throughout my readings or requests of my friends, I saw in my book ... all these words missing! I particularly remember the student who once told me: '- Sir, missing a word in your book! - Really? And where? - The word LOVE, sir. "I have answered stupidly," But everyone knows what it is! "Or me out of trouble by a replica easy like," It is a word so loaded with meaning as my dictionary would be more portable ... But here it is: the reader was right, so I introduces this entry in the 2002 edition, also with a hundred other words.

We now six years later. At the request of the editor, who was also mine, we venons d’opérer une refonte du Dictionnaire portatif du Bachelier .

Presentation 1: Welcome to this blog

Dear (s) visitor (s)

Here is the place of open exchange about the "Dictionary of portable Bachelor" editions that publish Hatier in the new version "2008", that I completely revised, updated and enriched ... while ensuring that it remains "portable", that we can bring current or elsewhere, or read quietly in transit.

This place of exchange, I just choose to call "monportatif", since it is both the simplest of "signposts" that can reach, and the book in question is "my" portable at the same time as "yours" ...

It is true that "portable" for me, is much heavier than you, given some 3000 hours of sustained development that I requested for a dozen years, over the editions. Thus the labor of one can relieve the pain of others ...

But enough for today. I will, in the days that follow, a brief history of the book and indicate the spirit in which I designed.
