VoiceFest Awards 2010! - 2nd Part

is the sequel to my very personal track record, the VoiceFest Awards 2010!
After you have released the winning female in my previous article, I propose to discover the male artists and groups awards.

You'll understand the purpose of these articles is not really rewarding benefits of singers who have made the success of the 2010 edition but at 5 months the next edition, you put a little water at the mouth, waiting for the first surprises Programming 2011, which fall in a fortnight.

Festivoix 2010 Award from the artist who took the longest stage in one evening (and incidentally, that made me more tripe).

And, the winner is ... Frédéric Pellerin ( Madcaps / They Call Me Rico )!


After opened the main stage with Madcaps, Frédéric set fire to Zenobe second part of the evening. This concert concluded with a flourish of egg one of the coolest days of VoiceFest.
For me it was one of the best live performances of the festival.

And, the winner is .... La Compagnie Créole!



I know is a crazy thing, but this French group, kitsch, which has most inflamed the park Trois-Rivieres. As you have seen the video, there really was a great atmosphere.
This has even completed a track (a small train in Quebec) rampant in all tiers. A great evening !

This trio from hell happened almost daily scenes of a public voice, that is, in a street or a square of Trois-Rivieres.
And I went see them play anywhere! Why? On the one hand, as you have seen on video, they sound great. And secondly, these are three really nice guys and it was always a pleasure to spend time with them.

When I arrived at VoiceFest 2010, one of my goals was to get to know them because I had seen in 2009 on the big stage and I loved their charisma. I was delighted to meet early in the festival .
I also want to wish good luck to Dan for his new musical adventure, Dagniel !

And, the winner is ... Steve Hill !


As you could see was at the show for Eric Clapton including Steve Hill was one of the guitarists. I had seen Steve on the big stage of VoiceFest in 2009. He gave a memorable concert .

I was delighted to find it last year. Although not the star of the show, 4 minutes that Lapointe gave him for this solo was simply magical.

And, the winner is ... Kool and the Gang !



It's always great to see on stage a group we listened when we were teenagers! Kool and the Gang was the headliner of VoiceFest 2010 and the group did not disappoint the thousands of fans came to cheer.

Kool and the Gang has chained hits with the same ardor that 30 years ago. All this does not make us any younger, but there VoiceFest that we can find his teen soul for 10 days and move from one musical style to another in a jiffy.

Obviously, if this evening remains the best of VoiceFest for me, because I've spent with most of my friends. This is a rare festival where the whole gang was at a concert late evening.

And it's not every day that celebrates with Pepe to no time, in a trailer on the St. Lawrence. If only one evening of VoiceFest 2011 is up to it, it will be a successful event for me.

Finally, I received a special award ...

VoiceFest Awards 2010! - 1st Part

Like last year, exactly the same time, I feel a shiver came from Three Rivers. Even though I know the VoiceFest prepares for 12 months, the countdown begins actually in January. The fever starts to rise, slowly, until June.

As you may have read in a recent article 's Blog VoiceFest , the team will not renew badly for the 2011 edition. I take this opportunity to welcome Nancy, Sarah and Patricia, all three Charlie's Angels of communication, and Jacinta, Hugo and Jean-Baptiste.
And the first big names in the lineup will be announced on February 11 ... I look forward to know that I will applaud this summer.

To refresh your memory a bit about what the VoiceFest, as we are in a time of reward and that anyone who arranges his own (see previous section ), I decided to offer my VoiceFest Awards.
I went back with pleasure in the 100 videos I posted on my YouTube channel (yes, 100 anyway) VoiceFest during 2010 to earn awards.

As you will see, the categories are not very conventional, they have a strong personal. But, after all, is normal since I'm the only member of the jury. As I have 10
VoiceFest Awards to be given, I'll do it in two episodes. The first, which follows, is that of female artists. The second, in a few days, reward the male artists and groups.

On the stage of Jazz Voice, I saw the artists most charming and the most talented as each other. I could attribute this award to Coral Egan or to Lysander Group Misses Satchmo, both were also very smiling and very charming.

But I did not hesitate for a second because Andréane exuded kindness. And this impression was confirmed to me the day after the concert when she sent an email thanking me for putting the video online.
And then, his charming smile was the first since the VoiceFest Coconut Groove had the honor to open the 2010 .

As you may have heard, this young singer (very young) has an amazing voice. Niverville Park, home to the scene of the Changing Voice, was full that night to applaud Marie Alexe.

The first part of the show consisted of covers of French songs, Renaud, Brel, Aznavour ... For the second, the musicians were joined on stage for a benefit rock. This contrast was both surprising and refreshing.

I really like a child in the second night of VoiceFest Ursuline in the park. I must say that it is difficult not to fall in love with the sweet Beatrice Martin.

And I'm not the only French people love because last year Like Children got the victory music for Best Original Song . In 2011, she was again nominated, in the category "Artist Female Artist of the Year" (verdict on March 1).

This is very very very (you notice I put 3) long as j 'I wanted to write an article on this song I love so much and especially which is highly representative a fabulous musical style, bossa nova.

A Garota de Ipanema , The Girl from Ipanema in its English version, is a legendary song. She has helped raise awareness of the bossa nova in the world.
This musical style was born in Brazil in the late 1950s, a cross between samba and cool jazz. The arrival of bossa nova on the Brazilian music scene comes from the rejection of traditional Brazilian popular music by musicians from Rio de Janeiro, among which are João Gilberto, Normando Santos, Vinicius de Moraes, Antonio Carlos Jobim to inspire part of the Youth Ipanema and Copacabana.

In 1963, thanks to the collaboration of Joao Gilberto and saxophonist Stan Getz in the album Getz & Gilberto , bossa nova won worldwide success with A Garota de Ipanema . In this version, João Gilberto began singing in Portuguese and Astrud Gilberto, his wife, then resumes in English, with Stan Getz on sax:

For the record, Astrud, Joao married since 1959 to have an affair with Stan Getz shortly after the release of the album and divorced from Brazilian musician.

This beautiful song, dating from 1962, is the work of Antonio Carlos Jobim for music and the poet Vinicius de Moraes Brazilian original lyrics. The English lyrics are by Norman Gimbel. They were added in 1963 for the album Getz & Gilberto .
Basically, Vinicius de Moraes gave a different version of this song, having to name Menina that Passa (The girl passing by) . It was composed for a musical, Dirigível ( Blimp), on which Tom and Vinicius worked. But neither author was satisfied with this version.

The final text of the song was inspired by a young girl of 19 years, Heloisa Eneida Menezes Paes Pinto, better known as the Helo Pinheiro, who lived in Ipanema. She spent every day to go to the beach, past the bar Veloso (now called "Garota de Ipanema") that Tom and Vinicius were regulars. You will notice in this photo (taken by yours truly), the sign of the street. The name "Vinicius de Moraes" has been given to the street where lived Montenegro Heloisa Pinheiro.

To complete the story of the beautiful Helo Pinheiro, having been a model and especially playmate, it opened in 2001, a shop called "Garota de Ipanema" where she sells T-shirts with the words of the famous song. The heirs of authors have pursued the beautiful, but the Brazilian justice ruled in his favor and has since opened other stores in Rio and Sao Paulo.

Getting back to the song, before the couple Gilberto and Stan Getz to see her in the world, a Brazilian singer had made the first commercial recording in 1962, Pery Ribieiro:

To return to King Salami it was really a great surprise. I found very little info about this group, except that it was created in London in 2006 by a Japanese, one English, one French and one Caribbean.

In hindsight, I think both teams could win this match, although one of them has a game much more appealing. So, the draw is not a disaster for us. I would say it is quite encouraging for the rest of the season.
Indeed, getting out with the honors of a match difficult, painstaking as that of Saturday, can only strengthen the team at the psychological level. I'm sure our little Blue will finish the championship in the first 6 places (synonyms finals of the Heineken Cup and ) for the first time in their history.

As to what is the best team in the region, Montpellier is undoubtedly this year (at least so far). But the USAP is a great team and I'll probably encourage him to Barcelona in early April for his match against Stade Toulousain relocated.

I've spoken several times of William, a prominent member of the VoiceFest team with whom I shared a great time . Well, William's friend left the gang from the festival.
I'm obviously happy for him, who is going to sail to other streams that attract long ago. But I'm also a little sad because William is an integral part VoiceFest my adventure from the beginning.

I remember it was in February 2009 when I created "A French to VoiceFest " on the idea of my friend Thomas, whom I met William, by email, of course . It was then VoiceFest agent communication and Web communications manager. He gave me a helping hand to visual blog and encouraged me in my approach.

At the time, William took in hand the official blog of VoiceFest and we began exchanging regular through comments on our respective articles. Among bloggers, complicity was born.

course in June 2009 when I landed in Trois-Rivieres for my first VoiceFest, he was there to greet me in the team communication with Fanny-Isa and Joanie (pictured above). VoiceFest During this, I saw William take another professional dimension. First, because the coordination of communication allowed it to take more initiatives.

My dear William, I wish you every success in your new career as an artist and I hope we can still zap around a good foam, even when thou shalt be a star.
But I do not doubt for Quebec artists are generally very accessible and, knowing you, there is no reason that you waive the rule.
