VoiceFest Awards 2010! - 1st Part

Like last year, exactly the same time, I feel a shiver came from Three Rivers. Even though I know the VoiceFest prepares for 12 months, the countdown begins actually in January. The fever starts to rise, slowly, until June.

As you may have read in a recent article 's Blog VoiceFest , the team will not renew badly for the 2011 edition. I take this opportunity to welcome Nancy, Sarah and Patricia, all three Charlie's Angels of communication, and Jacinta, Hugo and Jean-Baptiste.
And the first big names in the lineup will be announced on February 11 ... I look forward to know that I will applaud this summer.

To refresh your memory a bit about what the VoiceFest, as we are in a time of reward and that anyone who arranges his own (see previous section ), I decided to offer my VoiceFest Awards.
I went back with pleasure in the 100 videos I posted on my YouTube channel (yes, 100 anyway) VoiceFest during 2010 to earn awards.

As you will see, the categories are not very conventional, they have a strong personal. But, after all, is normal since I'm the only member of the jury. As I have 10
VoiceFest Awards to be given, I'll do it in two episodes. The first, which follows, is that of female artists. The second, in a few days, reward the male artists and groups.

VoiceFest 2010 Award for best smile.

And, the winner is ... Andréane, singer Coconut Groove !

On the stage of Jazz Voice, I saw the artists most charming and the most talented as each other. I could attribute this award to Coral Egan or to Lysander Group Misses Satchmo, both were also very smiling and very charming.

But I did not hesitate for a second because Andréane exuded kindness. And this impression was confirmed to me the day after the concert when she sent an email thanking me for putting the video online.
And then, his charming smile was the first since the VoiceFest Coconut Groove had the honor to open the 2010 .

VoiceFest 2010 Award from the artist has a nicer voice than Whitney Houston.

And, the winner is ... Marie Alexe Morin !

As you may have heard, this young singer (very young) has an amazing voice. Niverville Park, home to the scene of the Changing Voice, was full that night to applaud Marie Alexe.

The first part of the show consisted of covers of French songs, Renaud, Brel, Aznavour ... For the second, the musicians were joined on stage for a benefit rock. This contrast was both surprising and refreshing.

VoiceFest 2010 Award for the most tattooed singer (I like tattoos).

And, the winner is ... Heart Pirate !

I really like a child in the second night of VoiceFest Ursuline in the park. I must say that it is difficult not to fall in love with the sweet Beatrice Martin.

And I'm not the only French people love because last year Like Children got the victory music for Best Original Song . In 2011, she was again nominated, in the category "Artist Female Artist of the Year" (verdict on March 1).

VoiceFest 2010 Awards from the artist who made me shiver with excitement.

And the winner is ... Fabiola Toupin !

It is with this beautiful song by Jean Ferrat it transported me to heaven the dear Fabiola. And it was not the first time (a first time was there! ). This provision on the scene of Many Voices inspired me one of my favorite titles of articles .

Is it really necessary that I present Fabi? I've done so many times on the pages of this blog. But if it connects you, you will find here a first article on here Fabiola and a second article on Fabiola.

It was only natural that I conclude this first article with my favorite artist trifluvienne. Go a few days after the awards.

NRJ Music Awards ... Mr Poko what??

It happened last Saturday night ... and I still never got back!
For once, I watched the results of NRJ Music Awards (just the results, not the ceremony, do not push!) because my darling Quebec, little Beatrice Martin, aka Pirate Heart , competed in the "Francophone Female Artist of the Year."

But she is not who won, it Jenifer , the winner of Star Academy 2002 ... Apparently, she is winning every year, good!
As the winner of the category "Francophone Male Artist of the Year" and "French song of the year," Mr. Pokora , I will not allow myself to speak, I do not even know ...

It is true that I am not Target heart of the radio hosts this charade. I will not elaborate more on the subject, others have done much better than me on Monday morning. I therefore propose
extracts from chronic Guy Carlier and Nicolas Canteloup on Europe 1 . They are given away to their heart. Dear readers

Quebec, here are listening to what hundreds of thousands of French every morning waking up and going to work:

On Heart Pirate, here it is duet with Jay Malinowski, lead singer of the group Bedouin Soundclash , with whom she has just prepared a mini-English album, Armistice , due out next February 14:

Money for nothing ... Not for SIFF??

On 12 January, the Canadian Broadcast Standards (CBSC ) banned antenna Money for nothing, tube, Dire Straits, original version, because of the word "fagot " (" fag" for the French, " fag" in Quebec) in the second verse the song, released in 1985.

Here is the argument developed by the CBSC " Although the word" fagg ow "in English may have been acceptable at one point in the past, it has evolved so that it has become unacceptable in most circumstances. "
we dreaming!

I never paid close attention to the words of Money for nothing , interior monologue of a vendor of equipment for the home that dreams of becoming a rock star. Here are those of the famous verse, followed by the translation:
"The Little fagot With The Earring & the makeup / Yeah, buddy, that's His Own Hair / That little fagot's Got His Own jet airplane / That little fagot, he's a millionaire .
" The little fag with Earring and makeup / Yes man, it is indeed her hair / The little sissy is a millionaire / The little fag has his own jet .

In fact, there is a watered down version of Money for Nothing . After an initial controversy, right out of the song, Dire Straits recorded a version in which " fagot" is replaced by " mother. "It was with" queenie "," mother "," mama "or other words that the band played the track live for a long time, as evidenced by this live at Wembley in 1986 where the band shared the stage with some buddies that you will recognize easily:

But this was not the light version but the original radio that Newfoundland CHOZ FM , issued on 1 February 2010. And the words did not please a listener who complained that the word "fagot " discriminates against gays. It was after this that the CBSC s 'was seized the issue.

She was doing what this listener since 1985, it hibernates?
And what's with the resurgence of political correctness in recent years? We will soon have nothing to say ...

Moreover, the Quebec Council of gays and lesbians, the CBSC's decision is "worthy of the Inquisition . For its President, Steve Foster : "This kind of decision night seriously work we do. Too much crying wolf, people will say we do just whining ... The ruling comes undermine the tremendous work being done to expose the real problem situations ".

A number of Canadian radio stations specializing in rock classics like k97 or Q104, decided to protest against the decision of the CBSC in disseminating the original version of Money for Nothing loop, some day for a whole hour.

Guy Fletcher Dire Straits keyboard says, on its website, having received the news with a mixture of disbelief and amusement, because these words had been controversial from the exit of the song. It believes that such a surprising decision to intervene 25 years later.
Like what, the Bullshit (with a large "C") readily passes through space and time. 1 February 2010, she made a brief stop in Newfoundland ...

Go To conclude, it is left a thin layer (no bullshit but Money for nothing). Unfortunately, it is impossible to find a live with the original lyrics. Too bad, here is one, still good in the arena of Nimes in 1992:
