Extra Pressure At 39 Weeks Pregnant

California Dreamin '!

A new item to add my Stories tunes, a song that I love and who have given me feel like turning 20 in 1965, when it was released as a single.

"All the leaves are brown
And the sky is gray
I've been for a walk
was winter's day ... "

I do not know why as soon as I hear those opening lines, I have a few chills. Remember

California dreamin ' is an early success of The Mamas & the Papas. It appears on their debut album, If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears , released in 1966, which also contains another of their hits Monday Monday.

California dreamin ' was written in 1963 by John and Michelle Phillips while they were living in New York, inspired by homesickness (California) by Michelle.
A couple of years later, singer Barry McGuire presents the boss of Dunhill Records, which will sign the Mamas & Papas. To thank him, the group let him record the first version of the song for his album This Precious Time . The Mamas & the Papas singing backing vocals on this record, they will recover from elsewhere to take them a few months later.

Here California dreamin ' Barry McGuire:

History of Mamas & Papas is rather chaotic. The group was basically composed by John Phillips, Cass Elliot (Mama Cass), Denny Doherty and Michelle Phillips (both Phillips were married at the beginning ...). It was formed from groups of folk Even Dozen Jug Band and Mugwumps that gave rise to two major groups of the late 70's, The Lovin 'Spoonful and The Mamas & the Papas.
Originally called The Magic Circle, the group sought a name easier to remember for the release of her debut album. Cass and Michelle thought to be called Mamas, the two men agreed to Papas, hence the new group name.

Before continuing with the band's history and that of California dreamin ' , I moved a first series of occasions. For this beautiful song was sung by many artists, and this, in 1966, by Wes Montgomery and Johnny Rivers:

Two years later, in 1968, there were Twice very interesting. First, the Puerto Rican Jose Feliciano on guitar (B-side of his great version of Light My Fire ) ...

... and then by the great Bobby Womack, here is a recent delivery, guitar (followed by a another song you know):

Getting back to the history of Mamas & Papas, the group ran into stormy relations dispute that maintaining Michelle Phillips and Denny Doherty . To further complicate the situation, the beautiful Michelle (pictured cons) fell in love with Gene Clark of The Byrds, which led to the exclusion of the group Michelle in June 1966.
It was replaced by Jill Gibson for recording the second album. Soon, other members of the group realized that would not be the case and Michelle was reinstated in the group, at the request of John, the third album.

Denny lived poorly reconciliation of Phillips and became an alcoholic. The group is looking for inspiration, it was formally separated in July 1968 after a fourth album. A final album was released in 1971 for contractual reasons, the group who signed for five albums on Dunhill Records.

After the band split, Michelle Phillips embarked on a solo album after movie went unnoticed. But especially in the American series that has seen much in the 70 and 80. For the record, in 1970, she married Dennis Hopper but the marriage lasted only eight days.
Cass Elliot (pictured cons), meanwhile, enjoyed some solo success before dying of a heart attack after a concert, July 29, 1974.
John Phillips gave a mixed solo career and died, also of heart problems in 2001. Denny Doherty was the host of variety shows in Canada. He died in 2007 of an abdominal aneurysm.

In the 70's, California dreamin ' also enjoyed some interesting times, and always by guitarists. George Benson in 1971:

Eddie Hazel in 1977:

In 1986, the Beach Boys, who had already resumed California dreamin ' in the 70's , recorded a version, a little weird for my taste, for their compilation Made in USA (Michelle Phillips appears in the video):

In 1966, a French adaptation, without interest, will be made by Richard Anthony

The Quebec Roches blend the French and English lyrics in 2010 for a version without interest either:

Personally, I much prefer the version of Queen Latifah in 2004:

And I conclude with another version of 2004, a German dance, Royal Gigolo, which was largely inspired by the sound of Benny Benassi (I'm sure she will appeal to many My friend Max):

If you want other times, I encourage you to go have a look at the excellent blog buddy Juthova La Reprise Musicale who devoted an article to California dreamin ' some time ago.

Poets .... and the idiots!

Brassens, Gainsbourg, Trenet ....
The other day, doing research on Georges Brassens for another of my editorial activities, which I will talk soon, I realized that this year it's 30 year s that we had left 20 years for Serge Gainsbourg and 10 years for Charles Trenet. At first sight, apart from being dead 10 years apart, those three did not have much in common.
But when looking around, we still found a few.

course, which for me, brings these three great artists, is poetry. In styles different, they were all three great poets. Georges Brassens was a popular poet in the sense that it has raised poetry to the rank of a popular art, with a note of subversion, like Serge Gainsbourg. The latter gave more in the style poet maudit image he had himself forged. As for Charles Trenet, I prefer to offer you a song I love and is worth every speech:

Soul poets Trenet was written in 1951 for the film Bouquet joy . His words adorn the walls of a house in Narbonne his hometown.

And yes, The Singing Fool is a child of the Languedoc region, my darling. It is a common point with him Brassens, was Sete Island singular.
Being somewhat chauvinistic, I could not ignore the regional affiliation. But this was absolutely not the case with Gainsbourg, Parisian, if any.

In fact, I found something else in common with those three, a detail of course, but that made me smile. This common point is summarized in one word: "idiot". They all three have sung the idiots.

Regarding Brassens, his song about the idiots, you all know. The Time does not matter in 1961 and appears on the album of the same name. Its chorus is an absolute truth:
" Time does not matter
When you're stupid, it is designed
That is twenty years, whether we grandfather
When one is stupid, it is designed "

Regarding Gainsbourg is a film by Georges Lautner, released in 1968, he wrote his Requiem . The Pasha is an excellent film with a screenplay and dialogues Audiard. Serge Gainsbourg sang Requiem playing his own role in a recording studio.
This song is considered by some as the first French rap:

As Trenet, his homage to the idiots is a little more discreet but very nice. He just concluded a very beautiful song, Cor, adapted to the famous Alfred de Vigny ( I love her body at night in the woods ). This is one of his last works date since 1991. It is at the very end of the song and as cons-kneaded that Trenet addresses cons:
" Like the sound of the horn
Like the body of his
Like the fate of the evening con in my heart ... "

I offer a live for his 80 years at the Opera Bastille in 1993:

Right now, I'm a little tired by the Bullshit that rages around me. And every day that passes, the words of Frederic Dard seem more pertinent: " There are many ways to be stupid, but always chooses the worst con ." As those of A. udiard: "The cons, it dares all and that's why we even recognize " ...

Quebec speaks to the French!

Just last year, I wrote an article on a documentary project that seemed very interesting. At the time, it was called " What they think of us . Today, the documentary is finished and is entitled " Quebec speaks French to .

I made the pitch.
recent years, a lot of French people choose to settle in Quebec. Some of them return some time later, disappointed with their experience. The French and Quebecers would not they also close cousins as we think? The documentary

proposes to answer this question through the experience of Oliver Zimmermann (photo cons), French musician and student, came to spend a year in Montreal as part of his studies. Following Olivier, " Quebec speaks French to " shows how the French are welcomed and received by Quebecers, what Quebec thinks of France, and finally what is really the Quebec of today.

Adventure Olivier is supplemented by testimony from Quebec and French personalities from academia, economic, political, artistic and street people.

tempting, do not you think?
Before you say more, I suggest the first of 7 parts of this documentary available on YouTube:

It makes you want to see more!
But for this it will have to wait a bit and especially in the promotion. Indeed, no television station has shown interest in distributing the film, what seems incomprehensible when you see all the crap shown on programs. In short, the premise that a film must be seen, otherwise it does not exist, the producer decided to put it on Youtube so that as many benefits. As

" Quebec speaks French to " has cost a few thousand dollars to produce, to try to recover some of the money spent, there must be a maximum of the Internet and viewed s' subscribing to the Youtube Channel Lumen Box, the film's production house. The second part will be online when we get 15,000 to have seen the first. I urge you to do a max of buzz around this video.

Sterzi I exchanged with Lorenzo (photo cons), founder of Lumen Box Films and especially co-director and producer of the documentary. He believes his film may be useful for the French who wish to settle in Quebec, a good source of information to prepare the trip. For him " Quebec is not just for moose, shirts" carotées "and poutine. Besides we are not a bubble of France in America, but simply a French-speaking America. "

Lorenzo m 'spoke of Oliver, the "heroes" his film
" We had the luck of Olivier Zimmermann. We opened our arms, was always willing to do whatever was asked of him even though we frankly encroached on his schedule as a student. Olivier also a singer-songwriter deserves to be known. We wrote a song, entitled Montreal, which is the theme song for the movie. It is the end credits of the documentary. We must therefore wait a bit before you can listen . "

Regarding the personalities involved, including policies, the filmmakers have tried to have diverse views. They requested an interview with the two heads of provincial party Pauline Marois, who has accepted, and Jean Charest, Premier of Quebec, which refused, like most Liberal cabinet ministers (apart Pierre Arcand). My Quebec friends enjoy ...

And among stakeholders, there is a French actor voluble enough, the whimsical Fabrice Luchini. I offer you an interview in which he speaks of Quebec and his meeting with Lorenzo

It is normal for a website like mine, which prides itself on being the blog friendship Franco-Quebec makes the promotion of a film like this. The authors are invested to produce this documentary whose subject touches me, of course, and especially seems very interesting and well treated.
So please, pass the info, we can see more ....

Thanks friends!

Santana ... Finally!

If you read me regularly you know I'm a fan of Carlos Santana . Late last year, I even wrote a series of 9 articles on the songs included in her latest album Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time .

But just imagine that I've never seen him in concert and I dream to see him in concert. Well, this dream will probably be heightened. Indeed, my idol must occur in the arenas of Nimes on July 18 ... and I belong.

I see myself already:

least I was not the spleen. In fact, I planned my trip back to Quebec the next day, July 19 and I've learned the date of the concert last week (thank you Karine). Fortunately, I had taken my tickets so I advanced my departure for a day to see Carlos. I take this opportunity to inform my friends that I will come to Quebec squatter June 24 to July 17, I booked the tickets last night. YES!

Going back to Santana, last year, I had the balls because he went to Quebec on the Plains of Abraham, July 12 ... 3 days after my departure from the Belle Province. So this year, not about to miss it!

But it will be sporty. In fact, I'll leave Three Rivers Sunday, July 17 (the day after the festival volunteers VoiceFest) at noon by bus to reach Montreal. From there I take off to 20h to arrive in Paris around 8:30 the next morning (but it will be past 6:30 since launch).

As I never sleep in the west-east direction, I'll have a sleepless night in the face when arriving at Orly. From there, I will take the Orlyval, RER, to reach the Gare de Lyon. Hopefully, I'll be able to pick up a train to arrive around 11am in Montpellier at 14:30. Maybe would I rather fly to make Paris-Montpellier, but the arrival time will be the same.

I hope a kind soul will pick me up at the station or airport to take me home. I get my apartment after more than three weeks away and there I take a good refreshing shower, three cafes and a tube of vitamin C. And around 17h, I'll be driving my nice car to go to Nimes a good place to settle in the arena. A good journey, right?

This year I have been reasonable. I did not commit the mistake of taking a place in the pit, like last year for Jamiroquai. This time I'm sitting! I know what state I'm going home and I can not take the risk to remain standing four hours after 3 weeks in Quebec (including 10 days VoiceFest), 24-hour journey and a sleepless night. The year Last, my osteo. took more than an hour to untie myself back muscles (thank you Fred).

I am sure the concert will be awesome, he enrolled in the European part of the international tour Guitar Heaven Tour 2011. Carlos is announced with guests, we'll see that, but I think it'll be huge. Around 1am, I get home, exhausted and happy!
Info February 22: These are Keziah Jones , concert sound, and Asa that will ensure the first part of Carlos .... excellent!

To end this post, I can not resist the desire to offer you the same song as the first video, Soul Sacrifice but interpreted a little more than 40 years before Woodstock.
Carlos was only 22 years and remains, 42 years after the famous festival, one of the best live performances in history, thanks to the famous solo young drummer, Michael Shrieve.
Enjoy!

Down to the doctors ... Make you feel good all night! The Beatles

listened Dr. Feelgood when I was a teenager and Sunday, I saw the group for the first time in concert, Secret Place, excellent room of the TAF. Obviously, this is my sidekick Mr. 110 Volts who dragged me there and it was hard because I hate leaving on Sunday evening.

This British group pile-pile my age. It was created in 1971 by singer and harmonica player Lee Brilleaux, who died in 1994, and guitarist Wilko Johnson. Since then, Dr. Feelgood has counted no fewer than 16 members, 3 singers, 5 bass players, 4 drummers and guitarists 7. Let me tell you that there are no member of the original group. But do not worry!

No, it does not matter because the four current members are simply great and I spent a wonderful evening.

Here is a first video to give you an idea of the atmosphere. I warn you, the room was packed and it was difficult to see the scene. The videos are not brilliant but reflect the atmosphere of the concert.

The singer, Robert Kane has an exceptional charisma, in addition to having a real voice. And then we can say that it is very rock'n'roll. In the middle of the concert, a spectator commented on the show in a somewhat derogatory. Robert called him near the scene, has pointed the finger and, with a black eye, he threw a "Fuck You ! "in the face.

And with his harmonica, as it provides a beast!

guitarist Steve Walwyn, was also very very good. We made some exceptional blues solos. Moreover, this does not spoil nothing, he kept smiling throughout the concert, giving the impression of being really happy to play.

bassist and drummer were also in on it. In fact, while most rock music was super clean, well seated. The group members were not at their first concert. They were all between 55 and 60.
But despite their white hair (only the singer had not), it gave off more energy than many groups of young people I had the opportunity to see.

Dr. Feelgood gave us two hours of real rock and roll, punctuated by a few good songs blues, sung in English. Finally, good pub rock, as it likes.

I came out of Secret Place galvanized by this excellent show. I would like to see some like this every week. But not on Sunday night because Monday mornings are hard.

I conclude with a song that provides fishing and whose words I have naturally used for the title of this article: "Down to the doctors ... Make you feel good all night!"

VoiceFest!

Last Friday, during a cocktail party for partners, organizers announced VoiceFest some information on the 2011 edition which will take place from 30 June to 10 July .
I will not repeat them in detail because Nancy, the coordinator communications Festival wrote an entire article over there a few days ago. However, you can imagine, I have some comments on these ads.

First, I congratulate for the visual VoiceFest 2011. I find it excellent! It is available on all media Web communications, Web TV , blog ... and especially the new website which is really great.

Obviously, poster 2011 (above) symbolizes this new graphic identity. It shows, in the background, the Laviolette Bridge, a symbol of Trois-Rivieres.
And then, one finds a glance at the cover more qu'appuyé Abbey Road (the cons), the eleventh and penultimate album of the Fab Four. This design, the most famous of the universe Beatles, is known worldwide and I think it is a very good idea to have it included on the poster for my favorite festival.

And then, organizers have announced the first names of programming, 2011, Nicola Ciccone , Jonah & The Massive Attraction , Marc Hervieux and Beatles Experience .
Here is the video presentation:

I know neither Marc Hervieux, or Nicola Ciccone. As for Jonah, I had the opportunity to see
VoiceFest 2009. He was a guest on Steve Hill and it moved a lot. But what I remember from the beginning Programming is the presence of a cover band. After Pink Floyd in 2010 with Comfortably Numb is the turn Beatles to spend.

Funny, I wrote a few days ago a ticket on the concert Cover Queen concluding on the fact that we should not abuse these groups resumed. Well, the Beatles Experience will be the second of the year.
Their show goes further than Cover Queen since moved, in five acts, a chronology of the career of the Fab Four, the four musicians grime and dressing up to look like John, Paul, George and Ringo in the different periods group life.

Here is a video of their show:

Rather interesting, no?

To conclude, I would like to make a little nod to the excellent Olivier Magnan, aka Mago, cameraman, photographer and editor, whose company JayDance working for several years with the VoiceFest.
Olivier has yet concocted a great teaser for VoiceFest 2011 on a music group trifluvian Atomic Baobab is the bomb:

Montpellier Rugby champion mode!

I borrowed this title to rugbyrama.fr as I found it appropriate to Saturday's game that pitted the Montpellier champion France, ASM Clermont Auvergne , another team of my heart.
All conditions were met for an outstanding game, and displays of spring weather dream. Finally, almost all because, due to the overlap idiot TOP 14 - RBS 6 Nations, international teams of two were absent. It therefore lacked

the best player in Montpellier, the best French flyhalf as long, Francois Trinh-Duc and Golgoth Georgian Mamuka Gorgodze excellent, as the national squad. For ASM, the list of absentees was larger (Parra, Rougerie, Bonnaire, Pierre, Domingo, Canale ...). That said, there were still some very good players on the field.

The first ten minutes of the game left us thinking that we would watch a game without interest. What a mistake! Soon everything was packed and, apart from the first fifteen minutes of the second half, the Auvergne has been dominated by a team of very ambitious Montpellier.

Santiago Fernandez, Argentina replacing Trinh-Duc was excellent and the center Geoffrey Doumayrou has undermined the defense Clermont, opening gaps on each attack. This allowed Montpellier to score two tries in the first half, just ahead. They could have doubled the arbitration without a somewhat biased and one-line before the trial of Fulgence Ouedraogo, captain of the team.

early in the second half, Montpellier has demonstrated a remarkable anti-heroism which has added a certain awkwardness adversaries. Then, Montpellier have taken matters into their own hands and scored two other trials with a final beautiful Ouefraogo by air on a great pass.

You can see all these good deeds on the video I made for you:

Final score, 29-9 for Montpellier with a bonus point on offense. Broke James scored full marks for its team with a drop goal and two penalties successful.

What a wonderful afternoon at the Yves du Manoir stadium. More than ever, our team is positioned as a contender for one of the 6 top spots in the Top 14 finals and synonymous with the Heineken Cup.

To conclude, I would like to pay tribute to our absent, Francois Trinh-Duc, who shines with the France team. In the first game of the tournament, against Scotland, he realized a pass between the legs absolutely fantastic Imanol Harinordoquy allowed to enter a good try.
Bravo Francis!

Still Got The Blues ...

I learned Monday the death of a musician that I liked, a guitar hero like few remain, Gary Moore . He died Sunday Spain, in a hotel in the Costa del Sol, at the age of 58. There was vacationing with his girlfriend. The rumor spread that he had suffocated in her vomit, but in fact it seems that he just had a heart attack in his sleep.

Funny how it always wants rockers die in rotten conditions to maintain the legend. In addition, Gary Moore was a rather tidy guy, not the type to get drunk to death. This

Irish Belfast had collaborated several times with the band Thin Lizzy but mostly its distorted sounds between blues and hard rock and its endless notes that he owed his success. It also Phil Lynott, lead singer and bassist of Thin Lyzzy, who died in 1986, who wrote the greatest commercial success of Gary Moore Parisienne Walkways , released in 1978. The

here both as a duo on this beautiful song:

Gary Moore liked the mix of genders. If in the 1970s, he mixes hard rock and blues rock, he also participates in some other experiments, notably jazz and jazz-rock fusion with Colosseum.
In the 80's, the dominant style is hard rock, to the album Still Got the Blues , and single of the same name in 1990 to mark a turning blues and blues rock in his career and experience a huge success.

Gary, I hope you've been welcomed to paradise rockers!

Pink And Green Polka Dot Wedding Invitations

K's Choice ... a good choice??

When I was twenty, in the 90s, a Belgian group scored me a lot, so much that I bought all their albums . This is K's Choice , a formation created in 1993 under the name of The Choice, by Sarah Bettens and her brother Gert (photo cons).

What I could listen to their typical 90's rock. I wonder if I never got disgusted. Besides, I had almost forgotten.
My friends claim that I saw them in concert in Montpellier in the early 2000s, but I have no recollection. I must say they did everything to be forgotten since 2002, the brother and sister have decided to suspend the group to try solo careers.

And then, in 2009, K's Choice reformed, recorded a new album and embarked on a European tour. And they were Friday night in Montpellier on the scene in my favorite room, the Rockstore .

But yes, I'm sure you remember K's Choice and especially blockbusters, Not an Addict, released in 1996:

The concert left me with an impression rather mixed. I will not dwell on the first part, another Belgian group called Arid . They had already started playing when my friends and I arrived at Rockstore and I have listened with half an ear.

When technicians K's Choice began installing instruments, they placed three chairs on the stage it got a bit worried. And rightly so because when the group made its debut, Sarah announced that the concert would be in two parts, a first and a second more acoustic rock.
The first part lasted one hour, all group members were seated and I almost fell asleep. It was beautiful, but soft!

I still enjoyed Butterflies Instead :

I do not see much use for this type of benefit. is probably fun in a tiny room but Rockstore ... Temple Montpellier rock! In addition, being seated prevented much of the public to see the band. In short, not really a success.

Another "intermission" between the two sides and finally it started to move. The second began with a piece well paced, Hide :

The second set was much more pleasant than the first. The beautiful Sarah has not lost his voice and his charisma. And she really fishing, when she does it.

During another time, K's Choice chained good songs, mostly from the old albums. Here, I confess that I Kiff. I almost feel my soul to find a student.

A song I really like, Believe :

The end of the concert was as disconcerting as the beginning. The group agreed two encores, both starting with a ballad ... some damage after a hour as rhythmic. The public would have made a good dose of Mr. Freeze, but you can not have it all.
We still had a good Everything for free:

I was finally convinced by this show moderately. In fact, half rock would have been enough, we never change ...
After the concert, we could have stayed at Rockstore for a few drinks in a good atmosphere but we were gently pushed toward the exit.

is not so bad because we pushed up Chez Paul [e] , my favorite bar, which ended an evening "Oysters sound" in a great atmosphere. But then, you'll undoubtedly hear about very soon on another great blog, aperitif Friday.

Somebody to Love ...

My weekend was very busy and very nice concert, rugby match, lunch on the beach, sun terrace ...
So, I have not had time to write the article I planned for today's concert K's Choice I attended Friday night. It should be ready Tuesday or Wednesday.

In the meantime, I offer an article I below the elbow and is not unrelated to the previous the concert Queen cover band. Indeed, doing some research on Queen, I realized that Somebody to Love was the title of not less than five different songs.

As you know, I love to glean information on the history of love songs, stories that revolve around their composition or their record and offer articles on these songs . This curiosity about
Somebody to Love appeared to be an interesting subject for an article.

I'll do them in chronological order, beginning in 1963 by the Somebody to Love Brad Newman. It's rare enough to be noticed, I have not found anything on the Web about this singer. As for her song, I just know it has been adapted into French by Eddy Mitchell on his first 45 solo, as the When it's love .
Plexi twist:

In 1966 came a Somebody to Love best known and certainly more successful. First performed by the band Great Society, Jefferson Airplane, which is make this song famous in 1967. Decidedly psychedelic, she was particularly taken by the Ramones in 1995, in a style a little more rock. I also like version of Jim Carrey in the movie Cable Guy in 1996. Here

Jefferson Airplane at the Monterey festival in 1967

We're in 1976, with the famous Somebody to Love Queen . Written by Freddie Mercury, the song appears on the album A Day at the Races . Like
Bohemian Rhapsody, released last year, Somebody to Love includes a complex melody and choruses recorded several takes, under an arrangement gospel. This mix has been created from multiple recordings of the voices of Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor to give the impression of a choir of over 100 people.

reads in concert from 1982:

I warn you, the next two tunes are far less interesting than the previous two.
In 2009, Somebody to Love is the first single from the actress (and singer) American Leighton Meester . Admittedly, the starlet is physically intelligent, but good at music, it's not that ...

As for Somebody to Love most recent, dating from last year. The song is the work (so to speak) of the idol Canadian pre-teen, the singer's hairstyle playmobil ... I am of course referring to Justin Bieber . Here too, more is not my cup of tea.
Despite the involvement of Usher, I found this rather bland music ... Normally I'm a guy and I'm too old.

I'm not sure what to conclude from this article. Perhaps, simply, that many songs can carry the same title, a beautiful song, and not the same quality musical ...
Sorry, I just came from a small flu and I'm still a little slow.

The Show Must Go On??

Last Friday I went to a concert at the Zenith a bit peculiar. It was a cover band, a cover band called Cover Queen and which, as its name suggests, offers a show in tribute to the legendary British band Freddie Mercury.
Such groups have multiplied in recent years and knows some success. The best known are the Rabeats which include the Beatles and fill large rooms.

I had already experienced this type of experience VoiceFest 2010 with a cover band Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb , and I had not really been excited. So I went with some trepidation. It must be said that if I love the times I have a little trouble with identical times. I do not see what that brings.
Anyway, one of my friends wanted to go and I told myself that this would create a new item for your favorite blog ...

Before going further, here is what it gave, A Kind of Magic :

As you can see, I have not yet able to adjust the microphone (too sensitive) from my new camera and sound saturates. It's a shame because it does not realize quality musical and vocal group. But I will.

Two groups have succeeded in the first part of Cover Queen. I do not tell you much because their performance did not really marked. The only thing of interest was the look of the bassist's first group. I loved this style biker back on the artificial (pictured above).

Finally, the headliners came on stage.

The first impression was not very good. Indeed, the singer and band leader, Frederick Caramia is a little wrapped and held close to the body do not put really worth.
His costumes, apparently intended to resemble those of Freddie Mercury, are rather "cheap" and does not contribute seriously to the performance. Not to mention the "Freddie Mercury attitude" passed by the singer, her arm raised and a half mic stand ...

But this is only the first visual impression, and is quickly replaced by a second, this time hearing:

Very quickly, one is amazed by the capabilities of the singer, who shows a remarkable vocal range, and the quality of music. The "Brian May" group, Adrien Husson, mastered the six-string and his solos are amazing.

One begins the game, you start to waddle, to clap the rhythm of the music, take the chorus with the singer, it's fun and a little disconcerting.

Frederick Caramia was trained lyric, which partly explains his vocal abilities. In 2005 he decided, with his brother Alexander, drummer, to create one group to pay tribute to his idol, who died in 1991 (and yes, 20 years).
Other group members will soon join them to form Cover Queen and ride the roads of France by chaining concerts.

Finally, during the entire concert, only the "Opera" of Bohemian Rhapsody was recorded , Freddie Caramia even playing the piano intro:

After one three quarter pipes, musicians left the stage to return a few minutes and finish with a few favorites such as We Are The Champions , as follows: Final

There were between 2000 and 3000 people in Zenith (in reduced configuration) and I am quite certain that the vast majority has passed, like me, good evening. In fact, I wonder if I would have preferred that this is a bad cover band. If this were the case, I would not be out of the show with a little feeling of unease, a sort of guilty conscience ...
I think I will not renew the experience too often, there are enough good bands that play their own compositions!

Come on, sing like Freddie The Show Must Go On !

VoiceFest Awards 2010! - 2nd Part

is the sequel to my very personal track record, the VoiceFest Awards 2010!
After you have released the winning female in my previous article, I propose to discover the male artists and groups awards.

You'll understand the purpose of these articles is not really rewarding benefits of singers who have made the success of the 2010 edition but at 5 months the next edition, you put a little water at the mouth, waiting for the first surprises Programming 2011, which fall in a fortnight.

Festivoix 2010 Award from the artist who took the longest stage in one evening (and incidentally, that made me more tripe).

And, the winner is ... Frédéric Pellerin (
Madcaps / They Call Me Rico )!

After
opened the main stage with Madcaps, Frédéric set fire to Zenobe second part of the evening. This concert concluded with a flourish of egg one of the coolest days of VoiceFest.
For me it was one of the best live performances of the festival.

Frederick, if you read me, I wait in the south of France. I wish I applaud you in one of our rooms Montpellier.

VoiceFest 2010 Award of the group that makes dance the most public (even in the VIP)
.

And, the winner is .... La Compagnie Créole!

I know is a crazy thing, but this French group, kitsch, which has most inflamed the park Trois-Rivieres. As you have seen the video, there really was a great atmosphere.
This has even completed a track (a small train in Quebec) rampant in all tiers. A great evening
!

One day Stefan VoiceFest's CEO, said: " The difference between the French and Quebecers, is that we, we assume our kitsch . "Well, that night, I was Quebecers!

VoiceFest 2010 Award of artists I've seen the greatest number of times in 10 days (and always with great pleasure).
And
, The Winners are ... Alex, Dominic and Dan (The Mallèchés )!

This trio from hell happened almost
daily scenes of a public voice, that is, in a street or a square of Trois-Rivieres.
And I went see them play anywhere! Why? On the one hand, as you have seen on video, they sound great. And secondly, these are three really nice guys and it was always a pleasure to spend time with them.

When I arrived at VoiceFest 2010, one of my goals was to get to know them because I had seen in 2009 on the big stage and I loved their charisma. I was delighted to meet early in the festival .
I also want to wish good luck to Dan for his new musical adventure, Dagniel !

VoiceFest 2010 Award for solo guitar the most insane.

And, the winner is ... Steve Hill !

As
you could see was at the show for Eric Clapton including Steve Hill was one of the guitarists. I had seen Steve on the big stage of VoiceFest in 2009. He gave a memorable concert .

I was delighted to find it last year.
Although not the star of the show, 4 minutes that Lapointe gave him for this solo was simply magical.
Trifluvien This is truly the best guitarist in Quebec!

VoiceFest 2010 Award for best groove (even 30 years later ...).

And, the winner is ... Kool and the Gang !

It's always great to see on stage a group we listened when we were teenagers! Kool and the Gang was the headliner of VoiceFest 2010 and the group did not disappoint the thousands of fans came to cheer.

Kool and the Gang has chained hits with the same ardor that 30 years ago. All this does not make us any younger, but there VoiceFest that we can find his teen soul for 10 days and move from one musical style to another in a jiffy.

VoiceFest 2010 Award from the artist with whom I spent the best night (before, during and after the concert).
And, the winner is .... PEPE!

Obviously, if this evening
remains the best of VoiceFest for me, because I've spent with most of my friends. This is a rare festival where the whole gang was at a concert late evening.

And it's not every day that celebrates with Pepe to no time, in a trailer on the St. Lawrence.
If only one evening of VoiceFest 2011 is up to it, it will be a successful event for me.

Finally, I received a special award ...

VoiceFest 2010 Award for the friendliest group (but I no longer talk about music right now).

And, the winner is ... VoiceFest the gang!

soon friends!

Review all my videos and photos, read all my articles VoiceFest 2010, it plunged me into the mood of this festival so great that I love. I can not wait to relive all that I will go and book my plane ticket.
